"We've never lost a Kerbal in space, and we're sure as hell not gonna lose one on my watch!" (apologies to Ed Harris)

@vortexbreak I guess is didn't. But drag even in high altitudes affect orbit. So that with gravity and even possibly solar wind too. All can be calculated into orbital trajectory. Thank god that we have some damn powerful computers. That we don't blindly go into space like we did in the old days. When you really think about how we got into space and the power of the computers we used to land on the moon. Man our cellphones are more powerful. Kinda scary. LOLS

@Remousamavi It's in the developers hands.
Maybe the reason Bill and Bob are constantly freaking out is because some great unseen entity is controlling their ship.

Your ship/orbit did not change direction, the only thing that changed was the reference point.
Remember that Mun is moving along it's orbit too, so when you add that movement into what your Munar orbit looks like you will see that you are still going generally the same direction.
The fact that your Munar orbit does not close back in as a loop is trying to show that you are going faster than the Mun's escape velocity if I understand correctly.
