Top of the Pops never allows live play, thats why this was done.

Hate to say it, but don't only metal-hardrock, pop and rap bands are using playback. But also many in the genres rock, jazz, country and classic have used playback at festival. Yes, it's NOT only unfamous bands like Maiden, but also bands like Queen and Smokie have many playback performances. But they done it here because it was cool to have playback in the '80s.

Notice "H" (Adrian Smith) is the only one not fooling around. I think it could be because it is his song (masterpiece really) but I do not know for sure. I just think that is what makes it even funnier, with Adrian being the strait man still playing while the rest of the band goes crazy! I wonder if the German station got mad at them, or if the audience understood what was going on? Funny stuff though!
