I studied the Balkan was a main military route from Europe to Asia or vice versa in the past. In modern era, it was declined to be used. So, it was too isolated. Things, that no one wants happened. The EU understands that well. So, IT wants to integrate the Balkan into IT. That's a good idea & really helps. Believe me: Europe must be One. Divisions & Separations are the pest. Mankind was not created & exists for them. Forget the past & construct the future will make the present nicely wonderful.

The UN has done a pretty bad job in Kosovo. Now it's independent but with no way to support itself, and ethnic violence occurs right under the UN's nose.
It will be part of Serbia again within 20-30 years unless Albania absorbs it instead.
