2009: Licence to Kill 20th anniversary! This is a very powerful song about a very powerful subject. It is so sad however that in the film Maurice Binder can only provide - ironically his last for the Bond franchise- a title sequence I consider too generic. The song and movie deserves an intro of the same caliber. This is my attempt.

In this fan edit version expect the usual "007 Dancing Muses" but they are however greatly reduced. Instead I tried to focus in preparing the audience on what would be a different and darker version of James Bond. Here visuals and motifs are presented to define what "Licence to Kill" really means and its impact to Bond and his life.

JAMES BOND was created by IAN FLEMING
JAMES BOND movie franchise was produced by EON Productions.

LICENCE TO KILL performed by GLADYS KNIGHT
composed by Narada Michael
Warner Music Group

  • This is really great!!! Good job,i agree that the original was generic, and i think that the living daylights opening titles could have been a better too. Are you planning on fixing that up too?

  • Please don't tempt me. It may be generic for me it still works fine. I was hoping this to be my final tribute to Dalton Bond. I don't know. We'll see after my work load eases. And thanks for the compliment. Highly appreciated.

  • 4:12 Are those pictures of Daniel Craig???

  • Ooops! You noticed. Well, I needed images of goons with guns but the images that keeps popping in my mind is Daniel Craig's stance. I did tried retouching it but the demand in my day job got in the way. So I decided to just publish it coz I really need to concentrate on my work. No offense to Daniel Craig fans. I myself like DC and I'm hoping for two more Craig Bond films.

  • As an intro I needed first to define what type of "Licenced Killer" Bond is. That " Living Daylights" sniper episode clearly clearly shows Bond has a conscience and is responsible. It is sometimes overlooked in cinemas where killing is glamorized. Plus it somehow ties up wih the previous film.

  • Whoa! Was that Tracy Bond's (James Bond's wife in OHMSS) death scene? I guess after 20 years it is a great idea to visually connect the darkness of LTK with the tragic OHMSS (which coincidentally are 20 years apart!). In fact audience back then failed to sympathized with Bond because the 80's generation then do not recall her.

  • Yes a lot of people back then did not like Timothy Dalton because of the following:

    1) At the start of 1981 people have always expected and wanted Pierce Brosnan to be Bond due to the popularity of his show Remington Steele. Unknown to many Dalton was already one of Broccoli's personal choice as early as late 60's. He turned down the offer thrice!

    2. Dalton wanted to revert back the cinematic Bond to its original roots- the novels. Less camp and jokes but more realistic and hard edge.

  • @kranktank I hated Dalton too, but I have recently see his movies and I had read some Fleming's books before that, so then I REALIZE DALTON IS THE NEAREST BOND BOOKS CHARACTER.

  • lest he got a sequel...too bad for George Lazenby, could have lest gave him one more chance....unless it was because he didn't want to and knew everyone downed em that much

  • @MaCleodBeoWulf My thoughts exactly. They really did not give Timothy Dalton the recognition and appreciation he deseved he was true to the spirit of Bond but for some reason is the most underrated of all the Bond actors. Thank you BlankVideo88 for the EPIC tribute XD

  • Great video! This is one of my 5 favorite Bond films, it ranks with the best.

  • good job

  • nice track keep it going dude

  • Would you believe that, other than the 2 Daniel Craig movies, the only other 007 movie I have ever seen is License to Kill?

  • I thought people hated Dalton Bond.
