  • His face expression... Lmao

I love it btw it's beautiful

  • @ramonzzari Yes I did. I can recommend Lhevinne, Horowitz 1945 and Cortot. Not perfect but very interesting. There is also a recording of Alicia de Larrocha of this polonaise on youtube. She has a different approach then all others I have heard. (and good trills in bar 27).

but still the most convincing is Rubinstein.

  • @dmitribron Did you listen to Valentina Lisitsa's performance? It's a good one. (sorry for my mistakes, I'm learning English..)

  • His LH octaves are marginally faster than even Lhevinne's. I never thought you could go any faster than Lhevinne's. 0.0

  • I have heard dozens of pianists in this piece, and I never heard a completely satisfying performance. It is one of the most difficult pieces to pull of.

Rubinstein was not known for his technique like Horowitz or Cziffra but in this particular piece I am most impressed by the Rubinstein videos of this piece shot in the 1940ies, 50ies and early 60ies (Moscow). And the only who can actually play the trills in bar 27. See 0.55.

  • Cziffra is the greatest pianist ever! (like Horowitz and Gilels...)

  • A very unusual performance, I'm used to more explosions of passion, more tension, more pathos when one plays Chopin. Amazingly enough, Cziffra gets away with it, being the genius that he was.

  • Bellissima interpretazione!!! Uno dei più grandi pianisti del XX secolo (ungherese e non francese!)

  • Fantastic technique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've listened to several of Cziffras "pieces" on YouTube. What a technique! Yet.... Maybe the old soundtracks doesn' do him justice - but it seems to me that when he "attacks" the piano it is very often hammertime! "Thunder and ligthning" that cruches a lot of details.
