  • To bad they had to SELL THE TRAIN TO ARIZONA!!!

  • You are thinking about Spokane Portland & Seattle #539, which was stored in Battle Ground and was recently traded in a separate deal to the Grand Canyon Railway for a couple of smaller locomotives to use on the Mt. Hood Railroad. That attempt quickly failed and those locomotives have also moved on, so yeah, we in the NW lost out there. But Crossett Western #10 is a different locomotive and is still operating out of Yacolt. The ride is reasonably priced too.

  • cool...but whats up with the sound?

  • Thanks. As for the sound, this video is made up of short clips taken with the video function of my digital still camera, not a real video camera. Its tiny mike was just overwhelmed sometimes I think, especially by the echoing in the tunnel.

  • why dont they use her anymore?

  • Excellent video! They have another ALCO 2-8-2T running at the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad, though it's in the shops at the moment.

  • What kinda whistle??

  • Thanks. I am still learning editing. I think this was the first one that I actually did any editing. My earlier videos are just the raw clips from the camera. For editing, I use Windows Movie Maker, which came as part of a Windows XP Update, and I've just been playing with it.

  • Also, your footage is much better than mine, and mine is unedited raw footage, so you got me beat all over the place!

    :)

  • I can see that happening, that thing can be LOUD!

I used a cheap mp3 player to sample some sounds (to use for music) on the day I went.

As you can see from my footage, my camera doesn't even have a *cheap* mic..
