or if i read the rest of the commets i would see the rest and.. well at least i was part right 9jet wasnt working like i should have lol)
-
seafoam knocked lose carbon and cloged your main jet, not piolt jet.
-
@Motorfordtoyota bro if it boggs down check the govenor
-
You should change your title and description so that it stops blaming Sea Foam. It wasn't the Sea Foam after all.

NEVER put something like this thru an engine if over ten years old since rebuild!
-
that sounds like there isn't enough fuel entering the engine. more air than fuel..
so.. ideias would be ... clean the carb with wd40 or carb cleaner... or simply re-tune it
you should change oil too... actually that's the most important thing one must do after seafoam

@Budnipper82 i have a 59 johnson with 60hp

2 strokes will last forever, with good fuel quality, good oil and common-sense.
4 stroke outboards = EXPENSIVE JUNK

@mrgreen386dls The rings are steel how exactly does it dry them out??
you cant rev your engine with just the throttle arm period. You have to use fast idle to advance the timing. Btw, what is this? We have a 86 28 hp that refuses to work. it boggs under load. I have vids of it!

@Motorfordtoyota yeah it did the same thing when I used the fast idle and anytime I advanced the throttle. the problem was that I adjusted the air screw right before I did the seafoam and I never adjusted it back. once I put it back to normal position the motor ran fine.

I have a 1984 Johnson 35hp. It runs great. I got a bottle of sea foam and want to run it though it. How did you run it though? gas tank, carb, ?? Thanks

@Budnipper82 If your engine runs great don't bother with this stuff, however, If your gonna do it, run the engine and spray it in the carb until it starts to bog down. then shut the engine off and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. fire it up and its probably gonna run exactly the same as it does now.. just remember, whatever breaks free from the carb could get lodged somewhere else down the line.

yeah ive spoke to many machanics and ive yet to be told it doesnt work used correctly...but they were talking cars with 150k of deposits....i see all kinds of cars doing it just to see smoke...i was told its really all not that great on the rings unless you put it in the gas....just something an older man told me...dries the rings out once you do let engine turn off...but thats just me....keep on SMOKIN

What actually happened here was that prior to the seafoam treatment I was adjusting the Idle screw on the carburator and walked away for a couple minutes, when I came back I never finished adjusting it. After a couple turns of the screw everything was fine.
