Car won't start? Just add some "Rrrr." I had completely forgotten about this clip. Found it on an old hard drive, someone emailed it to me in 2004. Awesome. Rrrrrr........

update: The video is from Sesame Street, not Electric Company, (Thanks for the correction YouTubers! Dig that funky 1970's music, baby!

  • Is it me or does the letter "r" look like a handgun for a split second.

  • I remember this and loved it then and now. What I liked about it was that is was a sexy black chick as a cartoon and you didn't see that in the 70's as much. I had to laugh when I found this again...... Memories

  • I love this one!

  • Check out the way she walks... Looks like she's moonwalking forward! lol

  • @fadarrell "...generational brainwashing is showing through load and clear...," Sure is!

  • If only fixing your car was that easy, mechanics would be out of business.

  • That was awesome. Love the funky soundtrack. The hot sistah with the 'fro. Daym. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

  • Made me forget this was Sesame Street for a few seconds; when i heard the music and saw the lady.

  • I'm 45 years old and remember this well NONE of us thought the lower case r in this clip remotely looked like a handgun.....generational brainwashing is showing through loud and clear....

  • @kev28721: I blame "The Sopranos" (which uses a handgun as the small "r" in their title card). Trust me--back in the 70s, guns weren't common enough to give kids the wrong impression of this cartoon. Not even in New York, where TEC is still being filmed... :)

  • 70's porn music ....wtf

  • @toriano - I agree with you - fun memory. But as you may or may not know, this was a classy attempt to reach the black audience. Television still was racist back then, so that is why you didn't see more animations with blacks in it. One prominent was was Bill Cosby's first Fat Albert Cartoon - a rarely shown surrealistic animation.
