Indie Number 1's from The Chart Show in 1986. The Chart Show was first broadcast on 11th April 1986 on Channel 4. The last regular edition in 1986 was on 24th October 1986. • ...

08/07/1988 - N Doctorin' The Tardis - The Timelords (ditto)

    29/07/1988 - N Superfly Guy - S'Express

Also with 1987 the No. 1 of the 20th June edition would've been

U Can't Take No More - Soup Dragons

if an Indie Chart occurred on the 30th October then...

N Blue Water - Fields Of The Nephilim (presumably not played...wonder why)

  • @CSTV228 The Chart Show in 1987 started on 1st May and ended in 1987 on 11th December. The Xmas edition of 1987 was broadcast on 27th December !!!!

  • If the No. 1's followed the official charts exactly, then for 1988 after the 04/03/1988 Indie Charts it would've gone:

    25/03/1988 - N Ship Of Fools - Erasure

    15/04/1988 - U Theme From S'Express - S'Express

    06/05/1988 - N Theme From S'Express - S'Express

27/05/1988 - U Got To Be Certain - Kylie Minogue (having just knocked off the New Order's excellent Blue Monday)

17/06/1988 - U Doctorin' The Tardis - The Timelords (presumably not played)

    ...

  • @CSTV228 Also the Indie Charts of 1986 were featured on the episodes of 18/04/86 (Psychic TV at number 1), 16/05/86 (Fuzzbox at number 1), 13/06/86 (The Smiths "Big Mouth Strikes Again" at number 1), 11/07/86 (Nick Cave at number 1), 15/08/86 (The Smiths 'Panic' at number 1), 12/09/86 (This Mortal Coil at number 1), and finally 10/10/86 (Half Man Half Biscuit at number 1). Don't forget there were no episodes on 20th June and 4th July. Plus the show ended on 24/10/86 before the xmas edition !!

  • @dee74raz Did the Times tell you which specialist charts were on the episodes 1986?

  • @CSTV228 Yes they did on some dates. I also forgot to mention that on 1st August 1986, there was no episode, which I forgot to mention on the video !!!!
