The best I have see is a rocket stove you have to buy some hardware but its design is a method that allows a path for the ash to exit the combustion chamber allowing a more efficient way to move fuel and byproduct. It is geared more towards a camp that will be in place than for the back packer.
Just tried one like this with a coffee can and some coat hangers so my pot can be below the rim about 2 inches. The only thing I need is to make some holes to get air. My plan is to make a series of holes above the ash line.
The coat hanger wire works perfectly you can still use a frying pan on the top was perfect for eggs I am going to build a billows or a aerator from a pancake syrup bottle and a piece of copper pipe so I can direct the air just where I want it without bending over.
Hey great video! I have made a number of these stoves using paint cans, apple juice containers and the like. One problem I have ran into is after a while ash can accumulate and choke off the air supply. The same problem exists with the trail stove, once I hit the 3rd pan of scrambled eggs in a row I have to shake out some of the ash or the fire will die.
nice little stove you got there.
