I'd like to lie to myself and agree that both versions are individually amazing in their own ways, but fuck, let's be honest, this is so much better than the Talking Heads' original. I love how they took David Byrne's bizarre warbling and turned it into beautiful harmonies. Still adore both bands, though.

I have just listened to Talking Heads original of this, and can honestly say that Local Natives version is far better, I dont quite know how anyone can dislike this and also believe that people who hate this version do not appreciate good vocals.

Can someone please tell me why this annoys me so much? There is something I really hate about this cover and I can't quite put my finger on it.

saw these guys for five fucking dollars in Keene, NH. best money EVER spent!

I do not think they are paying homage to The Talking Heads. They just found a very crappy few minutes of annoying talking and noise, then turned it into a song. Consider this the original.

I love how they put their own stamp on it. Nice Harmonizing of band members. I think the did a great job paying tribute to the Talking heads

I think this is really cool! I like that they had mustaches. that is a critical element missing from music today. A very good cover. I'm a huge heads fan and this is a very neat different take on the song.

I think sounds awesome. My new favourite band :D

After sun hands easily the best track on Gorilla Manor. This band has a very warm sound and this track demonstrates that.

Hey doesn't the lead singer look like Charlie from Twilight lol. I'm just sayin.
I personally don't like it when people compare covers.. I see covers as an homage to an artist, to an inspiration. These guys are excellent artists and their own original music speaks volumes to the talking heads and their influence in their music :)
appreciate it as an inspiration not a direct representation.

What's the point in comparing covers. This is clearly a tribute to The Talking Heads. I don't think their intention was to make it better than the original. Just to honor a band that has an influence on them. Both versions are great in their own ways.
