@mayhem380 Yes I understand what the song is trying to say alright. I just dont like the way the stretch is added into it in regards to him lying down on top of the bomb and deliberataly chosing to be oblitorated. I would say that is a little bit more than just poetic licence.
The incident of the soldier embracing the bomb was poetic licence. The point was, that young lad was a very brave man, giving his own life to save others, including those who branded him a murderer.
@yorksbill He closed the door, and stood against it.......thats very different from ''laying down on the package and murmuring one fairwell'' I am not trying to claim the man was not brave, but why exagerate really?
@darrin42 he used his body as a shield he threw 2 people in the corner and stood above it and no1 else was killed or maimed because of his actions. do some research
thats just sad don't u thin because the soldiers saw all sorts of stuff what the ira done to there on people and looking at children who had to go thro that all because of the stupid terrorist AKA the IRA
@dreadedlurgy The reason why it lasted so long is both sides had long memories and both have Christian attitudes but could not " Turn the other cheek " or " Love Your Neighbour " A sewer of a Cuntry "purpose spelling" who will blame Oliver Cromwell as it is never their fault . They cannot drag their minds from 1690
@darrin42
Yeah, I understand it's a little far, but either way Sgt Willetts knew he would be injured or die in the bomb's explosion.
