@mayhem380 Yes I understand what the song is trying to say alright. I just dont like the way the stretch is added into it in regards to him lying down on top of the bomb and deliberataly chosing to be oblitorated. I would say that is a little bit more than just poetic licence.

The incident of the soldier embracing the bomb was poetic licence. The point was, that young lad was a very brave man, giving his own life to save others, including those who branded him a murderer.

@dreadedlurgy The reason why it lasted so long is both sides had long memories and both have Christian attitudes but could not " Turn the other cheek " or " Love Your Neighbour " A sewer of a Cuntry "purpose spelling" who will blame Oliver Cromwell as it is never their fault .
