i guess one can rationalize anything. And they take it to the bank. Artists they are not. Funny they are not. They're not even clever. And , they miss. Bringing in a young audience???? Just listen to the pablum they spew from their mouths.

Who is the interviewer asking such stupid questions?

I love the attitude of these guys. My friend is a classical musician and he is sooooo serious about his craft and about how he teaches his students that I feel sorry for him. He can never just enjoy listening to music anymore without subconscious criticism.

@HolySnail I agree. It takes lots of training to make it look effortless. Go and see a ballet. If you see the dancers' effort, it's a lousy performance. Only when it looks like they do it without sweat, they can be considered to have done a good job. Igudesman and Joo are experts at what they do, and it's neither trivial nor easy nor taking away from anything, whether you're concerned about music or stagecraft. I'm sure they a pooped after a show, it just stays backstage like it should.

i like how they pull things off, you don't feel they are mocking classical music, rather the players
i mean they have shown enough 'serious' skills in their performances, if that isn't obvious enough you cannot play so skillfully (and to act at the same time) if you are not 'serious' about it
i guess people just don't quite get it when they don't play instruments, how hard it is to get to their level but listening to them is purely simple and enjoyable, i really like them

yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol these guys are the best. Making fun of classical music. THem?? yea if that was only the case I'm sure every comedian would be up on stage throwing out beethovens appasionata and making fart noises as they make perverted jokes and puns with the word "CLIMAX" or in the peice. But these guys are clever not mocking. Their playing is superb technically virtuousis and musically magical. getting lost in their music is easy and to any musician you know they have a great respect for their craft.

there's something really hilarious about seeing a very serious classical pianist leaping around a stage and accidently punching one of the stage lights... i've idolized richard joo for many years... but now he's just in a different league.
