From what I understand the silver are better because they don't have (as much) feedback. Otherwise they are exactly the same, except cheaper.

I believe that I heard the silver ones don't have the feedback, or at least not as bad as the black ones. If that's the case then the silver ones are an improvement. You need to set your guitar in it's most treble position which for a 12 Ric is down. Put the knobs in the most treblely position and on my Twin I put the bright switch on and run the treble at 8 and the bass at 4. I love this guitar ... I can tell whenever there's a Ric being used on a song ... had one since 1965/

@TheBabyboomkidof53 I would imagine so ... it sounds like they also improved on the feedback they are known for giving.

@fattone77 does the "silver" model have the same tones as the original box? what are the differences if any?
Nice video, thanks. I have the original black Janglebox and I play a 12-string 370 special model Rickenbacker through it. I love it ... now it sounds somewhat dull when I don't use it! I play it through a Fender Twin 65. The problem is I haven't been able to crank the box up yet but I have and that's when it shines. Best sound is when the knobs are both at about 8 and the treble switch is on high.

Same tones to my ear. Silver is made overseas, less expensive and runs on standard 9V DC. The Black takes 9V reverse polarity.
