Buckle up for the ones you love. One out of three fatalities on Utah's roads could be avoided by wearing seat belts.UDOT, UHP and Zero Fatalities released this educational video on the importance of buckling up, as told through the story of Ashli Hendricks, whose father was killed in a car crash in which he was not buckled up. The video speaks to parents who don't wear seat belts, putting their families' future at risk. Utah has an 89.2 percent seat belt usage rate—yet the 11 percent who did not buckle up accounted for more than 30 percent of the traffic fatalities in 2011 alone.

This girl Ashli! Was one of my very good friends when I was younger we haven't talked in years this story breaks my heart and even more that I'm just now seeing it... I am so sorry for your loss ash!

Their loss is sad although it doesn't mean we should make it law of the land to wear seat belts. Just like anything we do that can cause bodily harm... Use good judgment and keep America free to choose for ourselves.

@supercollier We see your point, but when the lack of wearing your seat belt is killing more people in car crashes every year, and those deaths could have been prevented, it is something that needs to be addressed. The sad part of this story is the family lost their father. No family should lose a family member in that manner. Don't just buckle up because it's the law, but buckle up for the ones you love.
