the only thing i have to truly regret in this life is that i never made it to see jackie leven live, or tell him how much his music meant to me. jackie, i will miss you so much, even though i never met you. words cannot describe the sweetness of the forbidden songs you gave back to the dying west. rest in peace, beautiful man.

I first saw Jackie Leven play live in 1997 at the Edinburgh Festival. Of course I bought Fairytales for Hard Men straight afterwards and continued to see him play live almost annually thereafter. An amazing talent and a great guy. Thanks Jackie and RIP

Was so looking forward to his gig at the bowling club, - I will miss him, - saw him a couple of times in the last few years and was blown away , guitar, patter he had it all. We have lost a true poet . .................
