First saw this guy (when he was stll calling himself John St. Field) back in 1969. Loved him on first hearing, and still love him now. His death was a great loss. They don't make them like him anymore' Sob.
the only thing i have to truly regret in this life is that i never made it to see jackie leven live, or tell him how much his music meant to me. jackie, i will miss you so much, even though i never met you. words cannot describe the sweetness of the forbidden songs you gave back to the dying west. rest in peace, beautiful man.
I first saw Jackie Leven play live in 1997 at the Edinburgh Festival. Of course I bought Fairytales for Hard Men straight afterwards and continued to see him play live almost annually thereafter. An amazing talent and a great guy. Thanks Jackie and RIP
Was so looking forward to his gig at the bowling club, - I will miss him, - saw him a couple of times in the last few years and was blown away , guitar, patter he had it all. We have lost a true poet . .................

Rest in peace Jackie. For your music, I thank you. For your shorts, I blame you and for your stories, I love you.
