A short demo of my thesis work, a pervasive health monitor. It's meant to be work 24/7, and will record a wide variety of biometric data such as your ECG, EMG, GSR, body temperature, body noises, pulse oximetry. It's bluetooth enabled and stores data on a tiny transflash memory card.

  • Hehe, yeah, she was cold and tired. But she stuck around in the name of science. The XV6700 is perhaps the worst phone I've ever owned, but as a small web enabled PC device, it's pretty good. I would get the iphone but i'm used to the bandwidth from verizon's EVDO -- edge is way too slow.

  • thanks. and no, i'm not a professional speaker. can i just say that Microsoft movie maker sucks. Such a pain to piece this together. Why is it that they feel that they can provide you with cutpoints better than you can yourself?

  • does it work on cell phones

  • A nice piece of engineering to improve the lives of those who will need it. Kudos.

  • Love what u r doing. Think about threshholds, averages and databasing that data for reporting. I would love to use/interface this to vCrib and use it with my monitored Gym. -Vaughn

  • This is awesome! Way to get some use out of a XV6700, if it can't be a good phone might as well be a good comm device. Also it seems your subject isn't nearly as interested in your product as we are :(

  • RealBanana, give this guy a break. Not all engineers are public speaker.

    Very impressive device btw. :-)
