The Archbishop of Canterbury answers a question on the movement toward the Anglican Communion becoming the Church.
Rowan Williams took questions from the international press during the final press conference at the 2008 Lambeth Conference, a gathering of Anglican bishops from around the world once every ten years.
So he is talking about The Church, the Body of Christ ... not a church in the local sense of a parish, diocese or group of dioceses in common government. A province can take the form of a national church or of a collection of nations but is characterized by common episcopal governance and liturgy. The newly forming Anglican Province of North America will probably include a variety of churches from Canada and the United States. As "ekklesia" gathered for Eucharist, they comprise the CHURCH.
