Check my official site at http://www.ninjadrummist.com for more videos!

Thought I'd test my video editing skills by syncing the audio up afterwards as I am using headphones in this video.

It's a little glitchy in places but seems to be in time with the track for the most part.

I'm no Aaron Spears though! :(

No one plays Gospel Triplet Fills like Aaron, he is definitely one of my top three drummers at the moment. Check him out if you have not already, awesome drummer!

The kit I'm playing has sadly seen better days. Its the practice/teaching kit at work and its in dire need of some new skins. But hey, a bad workman blames his tools. I'm attempting to make a good sound on this kit, despite its faults, guess I like a challenge lol! I find kits like this help me make an even better sound when I get to play my nice Yamaha/Zildjian.

  • those fills are sick man....can u described too us.great job bro!!!!

  • @MrFreakinfunk I have a few videos on these kinda fills on my channel. Lots more coming soon.

  • Vast improvement on the original, I don't even like Usher !

How do you manage the tiny roll of (is it?) 16ths going from the snare to the hi hat without catching the sticks on the hihat? Hope you know which bit I mean, its not a fill but its part of the main beat at the beginning just before the open hihat.. almost a flam, but not. I'm just a beginner.

Anyway, this is smart ! cheers!

  • @TVforAliens Thanks mate.

I'm not sure which bit you mean but I'd be happy to help if you can describe it a little more for me?

  • @ninjadrummist Very roughly, at about 26 secs and 30 secs through. Do you practice doing longer rolls at that rate, to make it easier to do short bursts like that? I'm still trying to do the ubiquitous near-constant 16ths as heard on insert-any-post-05-indie-or-nu-rave-song-here.

  • @TVforAliens Ah I believe you are talking about the buzz roll / drag stroke on the snare during the main beat of the song? Have a look on my channel as I have done tutorials on buzz roll technique as well as many others. Hope that helps mate :)
