  • Ha, it's actually kind of hard to distinguish between Trent and Saul. You wouldn't expect that.

  • @johnnybfernz except saul is infinitely cooler

    just sayin'

  • i am honestly freaked out by how similar their voices are. Its like Trent's found the next torch-bearer.

  • @ErrataStigmata23 [cont...] Songs like 'Exit' and 'Bullet the Blue Sky' are not weak at all, in the case of the former the climax is very violent, the lyrics very sparse throughout, not radio-friendly again. And most of the songs off The Unforgettable Fire are very slow, atmospheric, ambient pieces of music.

I mean, have an opinion, dislike Bono's voice, whatever, but to dismiss them so entirely... (PS I never said 'SBS' was brave? It's just a damn powerful, groundbreaking piece of music.)

  • @ErrataStigmata23 When I said listen to the albums, I meant listen to their non-singles, so you can see their less radio-friendly side, although obviously you don't think such a side exists.

I really can't understand how you can say their sound is so "obviously" manufactured to suit perfectly what they believe the masses want when they've recorded songs like "An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart", which is over minutes & very experimental, not radio-friendly at all. And they still play that one live.

  • @backinburntcity

I did actualy listen to their albums, I'm 34 so they were pretty much unavoidable for most of my life. And I can honestly say they are utterly overproduced crap, with a sound so obviously designed by committee to shift as many units as possible.

In other words: weak-ass pop with no soul whatsoever.

And Sunday Bloody Sunday wasn't "brave" - they were saying "War is bad". As if anyone would disagree or be offended by that. How original and courageous of them.

  • @GDGspire Goes to show just how black TRENT is. I mean listen to his music.LOL!

  • this is my favorite song from the album and second favorite saul track

  • @birdmadboy Hating on U2 is so overrated... It's a cool thing to do nowadays, but sooner or later you'll actually listen to their albums (especially 80's albums) and realize the music you've been missing. 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' alone deserves them a place in music history.

  • bring yourself to be yourself tonight

  • This is such a great song! Bring yourself to be yourself tonight!!
