Lover Of Tosca: Tradgey is Escaped - Part Three -
"The Wounded Heroine" - CLIP #40
Josh calls Olivia and cancels their dinner-date saying that he was moving back in with Reva (emphasizing that the situation is "complicated"). Olivia plays it cool, and tells him that she understands. Josh goes on to offer her a job with his new company once it gets off the ground. However, Olivia tells Josh that she won't be around after tonight. Josh asks her if she is leaving and she says yes. They hang up, Olivia cries. She changes into a negligée, turns on opera the music, and dims the lights...Olivia proceeds to take a hand-full of pills, before washing them down with champagne.
Josh calls back Olivia, again apologizing for abruptly braking-off their date. He notices that her voice is a little odd. Olivia is groggy from the overdose, and she politely cuts the conversation short. Once off the phone, he's puzzled, and asks his daughter Marah about "Tosca" - the Opera. She explains to her father that the Drama was so sad. Josh asks what happens at the end. Marah innocently says that "Tosca", the heroine, ends up committing suicide as a result of her lover dying. Marah tells her dad that she loves him, before rushing out the door. Sensing the gravity of the situation, Josh quickly calls Olivia back and rushes out the door when Olivia does not answer.
Josh gets to Olivia's, and breaks the door down to find Olivia unconscious on the bed. He sees the empty bottle of pills and tries to wake her. Josh grabs Olivia and carries her to the shower; using the cold water in an attempt to revive her. Josh encourages a very groggy and weak Olivia to hang on, and informs her that she will be okay. Josh calls a friend who is a physician, and a housecall is made, thus removing Olivia from any imminent danger.
Olivia is embarrassed that Josh found her and is even more upset at the thought of what he may think of her. Josh reminds her of her intelligence and beauty - both inside, and out. Olivia tell him that she is mentally tired, of everything. Insisting that he won't leave her alone, Josh calls Reva and leaves a message, informing her that he won't be home that night. Olivia thanks Josh for saving her life. She asks him not to tell anyone about her suicide attempt. Josh reassures Olivia that her secret is safe with him, and that no one will ever know. Comforted by his word, Olivia falls asleep. Josh keeps vigil by Olivia's bedside.
