@hudbafan: His Mozart, Dvorak 9. Symphony and Smetana ma vlasta are the best i have ever heard. You know what, i have learned czech because of him. I love Vaclav Talich!

I'm guessing the digital transfer didn't compensate for the slower original film. This is a bit higher than the actual key so some of the luster is missing.
Talich's dances are a blast!!! So much fun to listen to.......

Yesterday in Morelia/México, the Talich quartet came, now I realize from where the precision of Jan came from. Fantastic.

Masterful performance by one of the greatest conductors that ever lived. His tempo is flawless, this man really understood the great Dvorak and all of his work.

I'm speechless.

Fantastic precision is the most important mark of Talich's conducting. The tempo is really furios, with gradation and perfectly controlled dynamics. I know a lot of his recordings (his Mozart is one of best!).

Now I can understand why Karajan admired Talich so much!
Absolute mastery of the music, no unnessesary movements,
very masterly performances, which are very faithful to the score, with great lightness, depth of feeling and strctural
perfection.
He is one of the greatest Czech conductors, but maybe
one of the world"s, his 'Ma Vlast" is (one of) the best.
