@91rivo Did you feel like the dizziness was enough that you'd avoid driving while starting up or withdrawing?

I am very appreciative of people who are posting positive experiences with Lexapro. Most of what I read is so negative because people only bother to write when they're having problems. I hope that I will work up the nerve to start taking the Lexapro that my doctor has prescribed for me.

I have been on lexapro for about 2 months now. And I have to say that it really worked for me.( just a little headeache and insomnia) beter than depression if u ask me. It's not everything you probably need therapie on the side as well to see what really went wrong in your life that you end up in depression in the firt place, these med's are just a push in the right direction.
I understand that some people are not to zealous about taken med in the firt place

@coolrider47 Hi, I am actually doing therapy along with the meds, thing is, I need meds... therapy is supportive, but mine is a chronic condition... actually, no one knows why depression occurs, could be genetic, environmental, both... thing is I've had many episodes of MDD, because of my BPD... I self injure (less than before, thanks to the meds), I feel a little better, so I prefer to take meds rather than feel really bad, worthless, incapable of living a "normal life". Good luck!!

I couldn't handle being on citalopram for 3 days. I was giving esc citalopram today will it be as bad of a reaction what do you think?
fredguy2 11 months ago
@fredguy2 Hi! Well, technically escitalopram is just the active portion of citalopram, meaning that is the part which has the SSRI properties. Since you had a bad reaction to citalopram in the past, it's possible that you'll experience side effects from escitalopram. Anyway, my advice is to give it a try again... I'm on it and honestly I feel much better, but also I know my issue is serotonin production, so any SSRI would do it for me. However, escitalopram doesn't give me SEs... Good luck!
