This is a record I am sure a lot of you remember as a kid. It was originally released in 1970 and there was also a book companion to it. I was fortunate enough to find this record again! This is Side One as the whole record is over 12 minutes long. I will be adding Side 2 very soon. Until then, Enjoy!

  • I was always able to quote The Erl King, Ruth and Johnny, and Dust (Still remembered Agatha Morley) These were my favorites,. For 40 years I've remembered these poems. I couldn't remember how the Cradle that rocked by itself went and thought I would check online. I cant believe you still had this record and you posted it!!! I listened to this record so much when I was a kid, I think I wore it out. So many memories!!! Thanks!!!

  • I have this!

  • Yep, I had the record and book back in the 70's when I was a kid and I wish I still had it. I remember listening to the record and staring at the record cover, it fascinated me beyond words! Thanks so much for posting, I've been missing this one for so long especially The Velvet Ribbon!

  • Love it, love it, love it. And I still have the original 45, and the book that goes with it. My favorites are Langston Hughes' "Winter Moon" (How thin and sharp ...) and "It isn't the cough that carries you off ..."

  • Classic ghost stories, there are none better.

  • Takes me back to a much better time in my life. A much better time, period. Bless you for posting!

  • Cool.

  • . . . That's a pretty poem @ 1:12.

  • I TOLD YOU YOU'D BE SOOOOOOORRY!

  • Thank you for posting this!!! I had this album as a kid and loved The Velvet Ribbon and all the other poems. Brings back memories of long ago!
