  • the black cat superstition is rediculous, i used to own a black cat. it was the sweetest little thing & it loved me more than anyone else in the house. unfortunately, it was an indoor / outdoor cat, & some sicko beat it to death while it was running around outside one day. because of superstition? i may never know. but if i ever find the person who did it, i'm gonna punch him or her squarely in the teeth any which way.

  • If those bad luck ones are true then no wonder my luck sucks...

  • @TarrHitsJellyWorld

what is the title and author? im really interested in reading this

  • surprisingly entertaining. It would be fun to keep a checklist and try to check off each if it happens

  • Bad luck to get out of bed left foot first? When we got married 27 years ago, my wife said she prefered the right side. Now I know why. And I have had bad luck since we got married.

  • @RealBigPair

I never heard that but I have heard:

A chicken crowing in the middle of the night means death. A chicken that crows before he goes to bed, he's gonna wake up with a wet head. (I've found this last 1 to hold true)

  • Thanks for sharing. I grew up with lotsof old hillbilly superstitions.I believe most of it is a bunch of hogwash. Some are true, especially those predicting the weather. I find the rest of the things I learnt growing up of interest but I don't put much store by them, but my granny lived by them. One, hanging a wishbone over your door. A young girl did this and the first eligible bachelor who went under it, you would marry. Daddy walked under Mama's so I guess it works, huh! :)

  • a bird in the house is BAD someone's gonna die. Finding a horse shoe is good hanging one up, make sure it's open side up or your luck'll run out. Unironed sheets brings bad luck or death if there's a wrinkle in the cloth shaped like a diamond. Inside out dress is bad luck just like shirt. Any shoes on table is bad luck, same if you sit on a table. Broom falling across a doorway is bad. I've heard most of the one's you've had growing up except for the corrections I've made to what you said.

  • Black cats are da bomb

and being given a BLACK cat is GOOD luck

My book on superstitions told me so:)

It also said that cats suck away the breath of sleeping children but I think that's just plain funny

  • lol that's probably for health issues
