This is a video that gained quick popularity on iReport. It's short sweet and to the point. McCain picking Sarah Palin as VP is a gimmick, and it's insulting to women and intelligent Americans everywhere.

*sigh* I don't know what the sales taxes are in either city -- I don't live there, they don't affect me. Sarah Palin didn't fix corruption in Alaska she was part of it. Did she clean some of it up? Sure, but she was part of her own corruption as well. Obama is raising taxes for people who make over $600k a year, that's it. And the economy has always done better under democrats for the last 60 years, to me that's much more important.

McCain picked her because he does what he does best, caves to the party. He wanted Lieberman very very badly, but the party didn't because of possible convention backlash, many sources close to the campaign have talked about this. Second of all, she isn't for smaller government, and isn't for corruption reform, and isn't for lower taxes. She says she is, but her record doesn't support that assertion.  As far as me being sexist -- did you even watch the video?

Exactly what this country needs? Another god-fearing, far right wing nut who thinks creationism should be taught in schools and that Iraq is god's plan? What do we need that for? To drive the US further into the ground?

I think it's a gimmick that Obama promises the world, all while cutting taxes for 95% of Americans. I also think your dumb for suggesting that McCain thinks we're dumb in not noticing the obvious, which you just stated. Of course it was a political move! Duh!

loved it! so glad to see some people have the common sense to see the vp nomination for what it is. As a women i firmly believe she is the worst choice to represent the women of america. corruption, scandal, and bad education ideas...these are what palin will bring us.

Barack has had eight years in State Senate and now 4 years in US Senate. In addition to these years of reviewing legislation, he lead the effort to pass the broadest ethics reform legislation in 25 years. Plus he is a Harvard Law graduate and spent many years (about 10) teaching and practicing law focusing on constitutional law and individual rights. He spent years working in the inner city making changes where it is needed by bringing people and politicians together and raising funds.

It's not unreasonable at all. Not if you consider the elimination of Bush's tax cuts to big oil. There's hundreds of billions being spent here.

Depleting military power is scary? Probably because Bush caused 90% of the middle east to hate America. And All that unnecessary spending on the war (trillions) could have also been used for national defense.

And McCain on energy? More Oil, really? Studies project a 4% decrease in oil price with McCain's plan by 2020...woah.

If you think Obama can cut taxes for 95% of the people, then you are unreasonable. Which means trying to reason with you would be a waste of time.

Obama flips positions? I can only think of like two incidents in the past few years, the only one that I thought was moderately grave was the cell phone surveillance.

But DUDE, compare McCain's positions prior to 2006 (when he was cool) to now. He's actually changed in almost every way. It's quite sad.

Either way, McCain doesn't plan on doing anything to help America's plummeting economy, where as Obama plans to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. He's actually trying to do the right thing.

Bush's policies are not whats wrong with the economy... its the people that WHORED the California Housing Market for the last 8 years. Fortunes have been made on fraudulant mortgages and deals.

You listen to Obama's tax plan, after he flips so many of his positions?

Do you remember Bush 1 back in 1990? "Read my lips, no new taxes." Forget your partisan politics for a second and think about CHARACTER, if you can trust what Obama says.

If you let Bush tax cuts expire - same as increase.

If she had a D after her name I'd be incredibly disappointed in the Democrats for choosing someone who has so little experience, not to mention that she's a religious wingnut, one-time secessionist, pork barrel spender, and the list goes on. And she's not unqualified just because of the size of the state - she just hasn't done it long enough, doesn't have experience on the national stage, and doesn't have any experience in the rest of the world.
