The Ginger Lady would be a relation of The Gingerman a nover by JP Donleavy who also wrote the short story A Fairy Tale of New York years before Shane used the title.

Its great to see this video. I was there back then when he was touched by that strange thing genius and wrote all those great songs. Long before the up the ira self parody.

I prob am a bit kinky;) And somehow I'm thinking n spite of me being Shane's girl n all, that he maybe did one long,dark cold Irish nite reach out and take a 'wee' sip of the golden stuff.....that in the lifetime of Shane's career of song and drink, this had to have happened at least once. That said, our nights together were never dark nor cold, nor very long, ya know how time flies.....;-)
