Wow no joke I teared up... I work with autistic children and I loved everything you were saying even before that story was brought up. Once you said he was autistic my heart sank. This is a very powerful and passionate video. Great senior project... you are far more mature than most 19 year olds.

@LHead2468 Aw thank you. And thanks for studying special education (I remember reading that and never commenting on it). There really aren't enough people out there to take the time to work with people who have special needs and I think that's a lot of the reason why people don't realize how capable and intelligent they are. My mom has worked at the ARC for about 28 years now so I've been fortunate enough to experience it, but not enough people are. So thank you.

..... he couldnt reach himslef and its dumb that no body would stop to help him. shes says heather you're so nice. and i told her thats just who i am, i would help anybody. but i was really upset by that bcuz nobody out of a huge crowded hallway stopped to help him. shit like this happens all the time in my school. we just have ignorant bitches and selfish people.

Today switching classes I was walking down the hall with my bestfriend, i noticed there was a boy in a wheel chair kind of in the way of everyone and he couldnt move bcuz there were too many ppl. everyone was just walking around and as i started to walk by i noticed he had dropped his book on the ground and he couldnt reach it, no body was stopping to help him and when i noticed his book i just stopped in the way of everyone to get his book for him.my friend says that was nice of you i say....

@BrittSimpson You are totally right... people dont take the time to realize that they are capable of many things. It might be things that we dont see as huge milestone but to them it's a big deal. We take for granted a lot of stuff because its easy for us but we shouldn't... sorry for the rant but I'm glad you got that experience becuase it is a life changing one!
