In 2011, Jacek Helenowski completed The Helenowski Residence, a net-zero house in Chicago. It has achieved the highest LEED Score in the country with a score of 119 points and is certified LEED Platinum and Energy Star rated.
The Chicago Tribune wrote: "The six-bedroom, four-bathroom house, which has 3,300 square feet, is also being recognized for being one of the most afffordable of the roughly 10,000 LEED-certified homes in the U.S. Construction costs came in at about $80 per square foot."
