You can use wifi on n95 with IM with the wifi trick. and it works. google it

I sign up to their website but until now I never receive an e-mail confirmation from them. this sucks.

Yes absolutely these are country independent as long as you have GPRS/Edge access from your phone and have signed up on pocketbox site.
