Four primary school children in a forgotten corner of a South African township invite us into their daily life. Growing up with more threats to their health and security than ever before, each child starkly shows the roots of violence in their society.

  • journeyman sucks. I purchased a 1 month subscription and realized they hide all the new movies until the subscription runs out so that you have to renew to watch more. This policy is not wise as I will never buy a long term subscription again.

  • the world does not always evolve around us.

  • To mina44..I have read ur comments and i can see some wwhat of ur point becuz people here in America always turn the other cheek and say they dont "pity" Africans becuz we have some problems of our own in America with poor children. but my oppinion is not like yours i agree with everyone we should acknowledge the proverty and poor kids and bullying in South Africa. Becuz they dont have anyone and it is us "people" who can make a change in the world!!!

  • To mina44: I note your interesting comments.

Surley then the task, for those of us who can help, is to stop the poverty and abuse.

It's time to move to a global Resourced Based Economy.

  • I'm not talking about the federal government's definition of poverty, where if you have one television in your home, you're considered below the poverty line. I know what you mean. However, there are at least thousands of people here in the US who don't have access to plumbing or electricity in their homes on a daily basis.

  • Perhaps, but I didn't even mention how I think their topic of child bullying is a moot point to even cover. How is child bullying or neglect in any way an issue isolated or native to South Africa? Then again, it is just 5 mins, 18 secs.

  • Trollfinger, at your first sentence: Don't be stupid. My idea is to not be selfish, but to have Journeyman Pictures create "good" journalism. Maybe, if, within these brief 5 mins 18 secs, they were to add the child abuse and neglect issues discussed in UN policies, and issues of such cases going on in other parts of the world as well, I'd have more respect for this video. But plenty of other children in the world are constantly hungry and abused. Why should I "pity" South Africans when it's here

  • You're right. I also thought the subject of bullying and child abuse was ridiculous. This exists everywhere, and I'm sure if sudies were done, they'd find the majority of people go through it in their lives.

  • To @mina44: I think if refer to previous JM uploads you may find that subject is covered

    pce

  • @mina44 because that is relative povery. see how many ppl have access to clean wates compared to SA and water is a foundation.

  • So you don't pity starving people in Africa beause there are starving people in your own country ? That's a very selfish logic, why should journeyman make a documentary about poor people in America and not Africa ? They are not an American company or anything.

  • Mina44, the folks that submit videos for journeyman come from every nation. This documentary is from SA by a SA. The story is not about pity of poverty. It is about child abuse and bullys. And as to hearing about poverty in rich nations, you never will. the pretense that we are all rich is what helps folks feel superior to everyone else. It is what got us in this economic mess. Look at Japan. You are just now hearing story's about the poverty and crime that has long existed there undercover.
