  • I had the opportunity to smell a vintage version of this one a week ago and was striked by how the "old school opening" wasn't there, almost no citrus at all. Much more almondy and almost bitter. Interesting, if Guerlain chose to reformulate this into a scent that smells more mature than the original...

  • It doesn't strike me as an old man smell either like some of the creed products (rose bulgar anyone?). I think oldspice is that scent for me mixed with bengay. That smells of old man. Vetiver is refreshing and understated. It's the kind of scent that doesn't scream out for attention but once somebody gets close to you they will be glad they did. It's understated elegance neatly bottled for our olfactory arousal.

  • I don't agree with the opinion he has about the opening. I remember clearly my first spray and initial impression years ago, and as well as how I perceive it now that I'm used to it. My initial impression was a little sweet, a undernote of citrus and a touch of clove and black liquorice. The clove is my favorite part of the opening. I agree with his view of the drydown though which is also my favorite part. The age of the product doesn't matter, Green irish tweed is even older....

  • Haha, love this review. Though for me this is possibly the best fragrance ever and I have never thought of it as dated! :) can't you do a special with old men perfumes? Habit Rouge, Pour Monsieur, Eau Sauvage, Brut, Caron Pour Un Homme, etc. Would be super fun!

  • Lol. Stop! We get it!

  • @Kerosenetrewthe Oh my bad atelier has very similar packaging...i had a sample of voyage it was ok personally i think terre d' hermes is the better choice

  • it took a while for me to like but i do like it now

  • Guys give Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver a try for a "younger" take on the vetiver thing.
