Just as others have posted, I liked the drawings with the vid. Heading back to Mn. to fish the area I spent my summers when much younger. Looking for the big one....or two....or three... Thanks!

The drawings where very good. Much easier to understand where the "Y" bones are compared to an actual fillet.

@albertansportsman Thanks for the comment. Yes, northern pike are pretty good when fried and you don't stab yourself with bones every time you take a bite!

Is it the same for a pickerel.? I just got back from a trip in Maine,caught a ton of pickerel, only ate one because of the bones.

I am fairly certain it is the same. Pike and pickerel are both species of the genus esox.
