  • Hey Folks...Just wanted to pop in and say to Uncle Dave that Its sounds Great...Dad would be Proud...On day i will get my act together and get this one under my belt too.

Oh and uncle Steve Congrats on the Band.

  • @jhonti1 You seem like you just want to rip into David at every opportunity you get!! You have no clue who you are talking about obviously! And in 2007 David will have been struggling with his lip problems too! Which he had to get operated on, which has meant he is still not playing now! You complete fool!

  • @latham37 Well considering they are a band where the only qualification needed to get in is to be in the army and under 30 and above 12 (I think that is the age limit for southern, but not sure) I think they are actually quite good, do well, and have a very very very accomplished conductor, who will take them far!

  • Woah this kinda looks like my corps but it's too big to be. But it looks exactly like it. Hartford Citadel!!!!!

  • Poor band, Daws was great.

  • measurement from the soloist. Golden Slippers is not the uplifting solo that Songs in the heart is but is nevertheless an enjoyable and entertaining solo.

Deryck first performed this solo (golden slippers) in the seventies but having heard these performances and the skill with which he performed them I suspect that he sold out musicality for techique. He was a bit sloppy in those days and golden slippers didn't require the poise that Songs in the heart required, Not that songs in theart required the utmost in technique but certainly the control, passion and

  • As for the best ever comment I have no problem with your comment. But, if you can ever access the Tottenham Citadel album about 1962 listen to Songs in the Heart with the soloist Deryck Diffey. There is perfection both by band and soloist. I think it is also the best solo written. Very musical and not just a slave to technique. I don't think that there is a finer solo ever.

  • Great stuff , good Band, best cornet player ever, some people need to listen carefully without their pre negative switches left off. Thanks for posting

  • Tommy's an amazing player, and a great guy. Nicest cornet sound you could ever want to hear.
