Target Balloon Radar Test

APPF recently launched a new version of the traditional "Killer Tomato" Target balloon. The killer tomato has been used for years but the US Navy, US Coast Guard and many international Navys for use with Gun Calibration. This new model incorporates the drogue chute from the previous DHR model, but Mylar panels have been replaced by an aluminum laminated, internally mounted radar reflector. we have nearly tippled the radar cross-section from the older model. This video shows not only the differences between the models, but shows how they are inflated, tied off, deployed and how they appear on radar compared to boats of similar size.
