@kingsman1288 I was a player on the team where the caoch was ejected and the first technical was terrible but the second was given due to the language of the assistant coach saying thats bulls*** then the referee said shutup and the coach said dont tell me to shutup. He was then ejected.

@kingsman1288 I cringed as well. As far as the second tech goes, why does they guy's partner need to call it? That makes no sense. Whoever sees or hears an unsportsmanlike act may call the tech. And why must you get your partner away from the bench? To win kudos with the coach, appear like the "good guy" and, in effect, sell your partner up the river? The issue should revolve around the official making the calls--not his partner.

As a college referee, this guy lost control of the game. A technicial foul is just another foul. Call it, report it and get out of there.
-
As an official, you are supposed to be level headed, and your responsibility is to help the smooth running of the game. Screaming at the coach isn't helping anyone.
-
@kingsman1288 Doesn't seem like this guy cared if he had a partner or not! Terrible officiating.

wasn't there won't judge. there could have been previous issues with the assistant coach. (who, btw doesn't get an opnion) i have no problem with him telling the idiot coach to shut up. he does need to shut up

I agreee, kingsman. I am a HS and college official and the way this official acted was absolutely unprofessional.
At worst the official should have gave him one and just walked away. He may also have told the head coach to help him control his bench.

You can judge the official, because his behavior is atrocious. As an official you never:
-Get in a coach's face
-Tell them to shut up
-Repeatedly stick the signal for the technical foul in the face of a coach
That's just the tip of the iceberg with this official...hope someone has taught him better by now.
i'm a basketball referee and this guy is an idiot.
1. you don't yell shutup at coaches.
2. u r supposed 2 try and deflate the situation not get in a yelling match.
3. he has just drawn attention 2 himself and those players and coaches will all remember him the next time they c him. more than they would a normal ref. i would lodge a complaint about that referee if i woz a coach

Yeah definitely. I'm a HS official as well and watching this just made me cringe. I'm wondering where his partner is during this whole fiasco as well. If for whatever reason a second T is warranted, his partner should have done it. At the very least, his partner should have gotten him away from the bench.
