Sculptor Kevin Caron is putting the patina on his steel sculpture Sashay simply by spraying it with water. He explains how weathering steel (Cor-ten) works and why.
Weathering steel with copper? How do you find this stuff? Not as impressive as the organic look of your work, but still (steel) impressive. It's all magic and eye candy to me.
Not at all. I can rust metal with a dirty look!
Ok, not really, but we do the rust finish all the time. Just look on line for a rust patina and you will find many to play with.
Thanks for posting. Please check out my site for more cool stuff.

Is it hard to get this same type of finish on mild steel?

Come on now.. You do the same thing with a camera. I never get my shots to look as good as you do. We are all masters in our own right.
but thank you.
