Performed at my degree recital at the University of Maryland, Dec. 2, 2007. Mei, which loosely translates as "prayer," uses a variety of extended techniques, including glissandi and quarter tones, which are designed to imitate the shakuhachi, a vertical wooden Japanese flute.
How long did it take you to master this piece? i want to do it for my senior recital

@GaarasDemonicAngel I worked on this for a semester, plus a few months in preparation for this recital

What is the fingering for the multiphonic? I can't find it in any books or online. Thanks!

Provided you have an open-holed flute, it's just holding the key down and sliding your finger slowly over the hole. For notes that don't have holes such as C or C#, it's just an embouchure thing.
