This is what I call an unboxing!

If it's been sitting for 22 years in your yard, you're probably going to need to do a lot of work on the engine. Even with storing procedures... I'd do a full ripdown, take every piece out, clean it up, lubricate, replace gaskets, adjust everything and seal it back up. I did that with a discarded motorcycle that had been sitting for 6 years and it needed the work. Only took about a week though.

I had a 1981 in 1993 it worked pretty nice, it took about 1h to ride it pretty good, never drive it in shallow water as it will wreck the impeller but I jumped things floating on the water all the time. i had to sell it in 1995 to go back to school. it was fun while it lasted!

Did you have to work on the engine when you uncrated it? I have one that has been sitting since 1987 in my yard. Would love to get it started again. Brought it knew and used it for only a few years. Had a blast on it! Not at all difficult to learn to ride.

I have a wetbike but it has not runned in years. Just sitting sadly in my yard. Hope to one day get it running again. Was used only for couple of years in the mid 80's. Miss it tremendously

Great fun arnt they! all my friends and i got up within 3-4 goes. Now we drag knees! Just remember - Back hydroplane = SHINS!!!!!!
Very interesting. How long did it take to figure out how to even ride that thing. I have seen 1 of those maybe once. The guy couldn't even get up on it. Pulling a water skier, that's something. Why "Freebird", bad bad bad. Piece of history though, nice.

Wasn't hard to learn, some people (as seen in the video) have a steeper learning curve though. I picked Freebird because the bike was left crated from 91 until 2006.
