how come your character select menu stats don't match your pre-battle stats?

The pre-battle stats, is the game's limit.
Which is also the limit after further boosting a character's stats with weapons and items. Thus, the maximum attainable attack in the game is when this attack bar is full. The maximum attainable attack disregarding weapons and items is represented in the character selection menu.
These are the BASICS...there are other things that should be said...but this is all you asked.

That doesn't include that "God of War" axe/armor items that double your attack/defence for 30 seconds?
Interesting charge attack choice. I usually use SSST and is very unreliable.
My CAW has attack, charge, musou, luck and fill.

and that's why I made a note that other things should be said, be eh....didnt want to overwhelm with a bunch of facts.
anyway, ya Green Scroll, and all other multipliers dont show up on that pre-battle screen.
ouch...ya, SSST is quite dangerous.
thats a good weapon for Pang Tong
