Part of the reason why he rarely spoke at all his entire life was due to a mental disorder. I can't remember the name, but he had a syndrome which caused him to have an indefinite stutter, I think. So of course he was bullied as a kid, and was apparently exorcized by a priest at one point because his mother believed he was possessed, which attributes to whatever later dementia caused this. It's a shame what happened, but it's over. He's dead, and so are the students. Move on.
