@Thudothwacker So their is no such thing as an "AUSTRONESIAN ETHNIC GROUP."

"Austronesian" is a LINGUISTIC Group, not Ethnic group, and it is a linguistic group that came to be spoken by numerous people due to the influence from the early sea merchants of southeast asia who later intermarried with different other people.

@Thudothwacker So again, the relation between Filipino and Hawaiian is a LINGUISTIC relationship, because it was the language of the early sea merchants during their economic voyages who dropped off some of their speakers in the Philippines who colonized the region and later intermarried with people from mainland asia which is how the linguistic presence wound up in Filipino, just like English migrants influence the regions they settle and we all wind up speaking their English.

@Thudothwacker The language spoken by these people influenced the whole region of southeast asia and the MANY other people they mixed with and intermarried with. According to pacific tradition, the pygmies accompanied these early sea peoples who traveled to asia from the west, & they spoke their language. Some of the pygmies traveled on to the phillippines while the rest went on. This is why linguistically there is a relation between filipino and Hawaiian languages.

@Thudothwacker LOL! Nice try. English is the economic language, so whether it is spoken due to being imposed or voluntary, it is still due to economic reasons & colonization. Similarly, the so called "Austronesian" language was spoken by the early sea peoples who controlled the trade economy & colonization of southeast asia, whom the chinese called "Kunlun" foreigners from the west. Just like english, due to colonization & trade MANY different people came to speak it.

@thotsins No, that's two different things.Your grasp on English was taught mainly by your white coloniser. While the Proto-Austronesian language spread through out the Pacific and Madagascar are due to migration.

@Thudothwacker Austronesian is a language classification it is was the economic language that dominated the region in ancient times and came to be spoken by a wide VARIETY of DIFFERENT people.. So they are related linguistically.

And since they've now come to also speak english—that makes them related to the whole world as well.
