This is now several years old and it's amazing how quickly things can change. Sort of reminiscent of the Apple Newton and Apple (in general) in the mid 1990's.
Who would even dare to have predicted back then that Microsoft's star would be fading and Apple would be the most valuable company in the world?! Stranger than fiction.

I FEEL you - and YET I have MY favorites who DO NOT pay me off. I like products from Acer/Gateway/eMachines from past experience. I prefer Linux/Windows/OSX in THAT order. I like Pantech Phones vs Samsung OR LG and Samsung to Sony. I am the local "Ford Guy" that actually likes some Chevys and Dodges. Open, Yes - totally without loyalties -NO. -S-

I don't understand how anyone would take technology that personal or even take sides with a certain technology company. I am a consumer I buy whatever is the best on the market at time of purchase. I don't care which company it is and I have no loyalty. Now if a certain company gave me free stuff and treated me like a VIP consumer then I would feel a sense of loyalty. I just don't get why anyone would be a "fan" of any technology company. They are in it for the money, nothing more nothing less!
