@qwandiddy It's a shame it's gotten to be that way. The beaches and the history is what I love most about Muskegon. I know this may seem harsh to say, but I have no intention of ever living there again. And that breaks my heart that I can't go HOME again......

@iamjtrent Don't forget the little outlet mall on Henry by Laketon by the RR Tracks. I really miss the Old JC Penney on Henry as well.

@UrlsGrrl54 You have a point, I still have families in Muskegon and I love em' much but now it doesn't seem a very safe town to visit since so many shootings been going on lately including the Beach.

@qwandiddy To "hate" where you came from is the saddest form of self-hatred. I was born there, too and I don't hate Muskegon. It's just sad to see what it became due to the influx of people that don't (or won't) contribute to it in a positive way. It's overrun by leeches now. I left when I joined the Air Force shortly after graduating from high school and I haven't moved back, but still visit relatives that are still there. God bless Muskegon....

Downtown muskegon is a shithole. If you want to see the real muskegon you have to stick to the north or east or around the lake. everything else is run down by the people who quit trying and turned to drugs.

Where's the greatest asset Muskegon has ... the beach? (That and McDonald's Candies.) I don't need to see Meijer. This just reminds me of why I moved away many years ago.
