This year, Alvin Ailey's "Revelations" turns 50. Here's a short documentary about this modern dance classic and the inspiration behind the work. "Revelations" is included on all programs when Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater makes its annual appearance in NJPAC's Prudential Hall, May 6-8, 2001.

My Modern Company is learning part of Revelations and it is amazing, such a fun thing to be a part of! I love Sinner Man, I just watched it on here and although I probably wouldn't be able to do some of it I would love to do it or at least learn that part as well. Alvin Ailey is amazing and I congradulate them in all their many years of success! (:

I remember when they came to my town a long time ago. They were incredible! In fact, by the end of the evening everyone in the audience was on their feet dancing with the company, no exaggeration here! They had to do three encores before we'd let them leave. A truly memorable evening at the theatre!
