@jdesbonnet It can be used as QRCodes, to transfer URL information to the phone. May be with larger coils and more electromagnetic amplitude, you can just touch something with your phone and get info about it.

@kabuCee Yes: one way from coil to phone unfortunately. It's not very practical, but I can't help thinking that there may be *some* practical application for this... I just can't think of it :-)

@d4ark Well people in conventions could easily get information by putting their android device near places with this mechanism and get their information easily

@Feliexxxxxxxx Ironically, the iPhone probably can do this. Instead of utilizing NFC dedicated tech, this solution utilizes the phone's compass (magnetometer) to detect changes in electric fields - While the iPhone doesn't have NFC capability, I don't think it would have trouble pulling off this kind of communication. Props to @jdesbonnet for the technique!
