@addyr100 Good luck! Jefferson really is one of the most interesting and special people in history. He made the difference and set the stage of what the US would become as far as liberty is concerned. Had Jefferson not been born the US would truly be more like England- in the ways the Federalists Hamilton and Adams were pushing for. Also Jefferson really did not say too much on God and Theology. He avoided it as he was a Theistic rationalist- just believed in a God and Christ to some degree.

@addyr100 You sound like you have a brain. That's rare these days. I got some of my information from a biography on Jefferson by Saul Padover. Get a copy on Amazon- one of the best reads I have ever had.

@frost122585 first of all i dont even know who wolf blitzer is and secondly i apoligize for being rude and you are right i probably should read some more stuff before i speak. also what sources told you all this about jefferson i would like to read up

@addyr100 Your quotes my be accurate but your point is ignorant. I don't watch beck buddy. Sorry. Secondly, Jefferson was a rationalist and a protestant. You need to do some history and realize not everyone who accepts the existence of a God and accepts Christ's divinity thinks that everything in the Bible is accurate and true. Jefferson was still a Thesit who said to John Adams that Christ was "divine for sure." You need to stop listening to everything Wolf Blitzer tells you.

@frost122585 It is between fifty and sixty years since I read it [the Apocalypse], and I then considered it merely the ravings of a maniac, no more worthy nor capable of explanation than the incoherences of our own nightly dreams.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to General Alexander Smyth, Jan. 17, 1825
you shouldnt listen to everything glenn beck tells you or david barton

@frost122585 History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes. - thomas jefferson

And even though it is true that they always put slavery and Martin Luther King into everything- it is actually relevant here- because Jefferson's words in the Declaration are what made it legally, constitutionally and philosophically possible- and eventually necessary for equal rights among all people of all races. So while I know race issues are usually abused and injected into everything, it is actually very relevant in this case for certain.

Jefferson was also a man of faith. It is no mistake that he used the words "endowed by their creator" - he was a Theist- not a Deist- for sure and one beautifully wrote "I hold (without appeal to revelation) that when we take a view of the Universe, in its parts general or particular, it is impossible for the human mind not to perceive and feel a conviction of design, consummate skill, and indefinite power in every atom of its composition." He also once remaked that "Christ was divine for sure"
thomas jefferson was a true man of reason and logic

Why is Martin Luther king inserted into everything ever produced? Yet, nobody ever studies his character, private life and secret views.
