one question though, how do you do the reflections, and if you are using shadows, how would you add reflections and shadows on the same plane,
i know how to do the shadows.

this is going to sound quite nooby, but how can i actually include the image sequence in the render while rendering my scene?
i took a video clip of my desk and i did all the tracking and i put a few 3d objects in the scene. it all works great, but how do i render it? i would prefferably render it in mentalray if possible
-
That helped me, Now all I need to do is how to work After Effects ;-)
Where did you learn this in UK?
I'm in Ireland
-
vancouver film school?

great
Dude, I'm doing an animation course at ravensbourne... i learn more about Maya through friends rather than teachers... Could you please tell me how on earth did you make it through those 3 years? I am very annoyed with Ravenbourne right now because before, everyone told me they were one of the best... Yeah right. Tut, tut.

@astgraphicnovel Yeah you're not gonna learn much there! best thing to do is learn from other people and try find as much as you can online!

Great! Nice work :D I'm a newbie in 3d modeling and rendering...I have a problem and count on your talent :D I rendered an animation with maya (live) 2010 with an image sequence and 3d objects in front of it, but when i try to render the scene it only shows me the 3d models and a black background. I want to export it as a .avi file. Do I need another program?

@Japao01 the best way to do it is to render it out from maya as a TIFF sequence and then composite it onto the original video footage in a program like After Effects. Doing it as a TIFF sequence will make the black background transparent when you load it into After Effects meaning you can just put it as a layer on top of the video! hope that's at all helpful!
