Allstar Weekend Love Story Chapter 16

I woke up the next morning still feeling lousy. I got up and took a peek at my cheek. There was a big bruise and I looked like a chipmunk from how swollen it was. I went downstairs hoping to find my mom there waiting for me, but she wasn't. Her flight was probably still delayed. I shrugged it off and went outside. I saw Zach pulling up in his car.
"Hey there," He grinned,"Need a ride?"
"That'd be great," I smiled and got in. I put a hand over my cheek so he wouldn't see it,"Feeling any better?"
"How'd you know I was sick," He questioned.
"I went to visit Vic last night and he told me you were," I said.
"Oh," He looked at me,"Why do you have a hand over your cheek like that?"
"What, oh nothing,"I replied quickly while putting my hand down.
Glaring at my cheek, his smile quickly faded,"What happened to you?"
"Nothing," I reassured him,"I am perfectly fine."
"No your not. People don't have bruises on their faces for no reason. Tell me what really happened,"He demanded.
"Well," I began,"You know me, I am really clumsy and I fell last night, not a big deal."
He didn't seem to buy it, but we were already at the school and before he could speak, I raced out of the car, to my locker, then to my class before anyone could even glimpse at me. Right when I walked into my first class, Melissa's mouth dropped open once she made eye contact with me."
"Oh my god," She said shocked,"Please tell me you fell."
"I wish that was the case," I added,"I got a very welcoming visit from Cylissa last night and lets just say, things got a little out of control."
"I saw Cylissa this morning before I came here," She paused,"Where's her bruise?"
I looked down and didn't say anything so she went on,"What? Please tell me you popped her back. I mean, If she hit me, girl better leave this country and never come back. Otherwise, she'd be meat to me."
I cringed at the thought of that,"I would never hit someone, no matter what the circumstance is. And after Cylissa left, I was just speechless. I never thought she was capable of doing that."
"When it comes to boys,"Melissa said,"She'll do anything, but don't worry, were not going down without a fight."
"I hope so," I said nervously.
"Okay, first of all, you need to quit that," She declared.
"Quit what,"I asked confused.
"Quit worrying. Everything is gonna be fine. You need to act tougher or Cylissa will see right through it and completely bull doze you over," She stated.
"Alright, I'll do my best,"I smiled.
"Good,"Melissa smirked.
Just then, our teacher walked in and called attention to the class. The rest of the morning slowly dragged on and it finally reached lunch time.
We were all sitting down at the table when Katelyn spoke up,"Kota, what happened to you," She asked sympathetically.
"Like you don't know,"I accidentally blurted out. Everyone at the table stopped what they were doing and looked up at us.
"No, I'm sorry, I don't," She acted confused.
Melissa was getting really angry,"Oh, go to hell Katelyn!"
Anger filled up in Katelyn's eyes,"Why don't all three of you jump off a cliff and die,"Katelyn growled,"And for you, Dakota, apparently last night Cylissa didn't slap you hard enough." Right when the words came out of her mouth, she regretted it. Feeling unwelcome, she quickly shot up from the table and started to walk off.
"Katelyn, wait,"Cameron yelled.
"What," she called back.
"Our date is off for friday night," He looked disgusted,"I don't wanna hang with girls like you. I thought you were different than most girls, but I was wrong."
She stomped her feet and stormed off.
"Cylissa slapped you,"Zach asked me with anger in his voice.
Tears started streaming down my face and I couldn't find words to speak. I stood up, and walked out of the cafeteria, completely ditching school. I just wanted to be alone right now.
