NC* Namco Museum Remix (Wii) Review

My review for Namco Museum Remix for the Nintendo Wii.

02.20.08 NOTE:
The grade I gave this game mostly reflects upon the original content in this title. In regards to the classic games, while they all might not fully align with my classic gaming tastes, they aren't necessarily "bad" even if that's how I made them out to sound (although still in my opinion, these aren't the cream of the crop). However, it definitely takes a certain type of personality to enjoy those sorts of games in this day and age and they aren't easily accessible to everyone.

I mostly just find it tiring how Namco continuously rehashes their old content to make a quick buck. Especially since it seems like here they tried to make a new good title here, failed, and then in turn padded it out with their back-catalog. Of course, this is still all my opinion and thus your mileage may vary.

I honestly think you were being a little too harsh on this game. As far as minigame compilations go, I don't think Namco Museum Remix was that bad. I had good amounts of fun with it here and there. Also I wouldn't call that Gator Panic Remix minigame to be unplayable. Yes, the controls could be more properly tuned, but unplayable wasn't the word I had in mind.

Great review! I've always thought the Namco Museum games we're crap, even when they were releasing them on the PS1. Only Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Galaga are passable, the rest have aged like turds in a desert. I'm not paying $20 for three games I'll only play for 10 minutes each!

The Williams Arcade collection was a bit better, and that was on the SNES back in 1996! Robotron 2084 still kicks ass to this very day, and Defender I & II are good fun, too.
